Making Home Made Ginger Beer

Ginger Beer, ahh the best fizzy drink going. Well that’s how I feel,  now I want to share the recipe that I think is the very best. This has been an experiment for me and I hope that if you try it you will agree that has been successful. I will give alternatives to  give quicker results which I will go over in a later post. I love the idea of using just four ingredients.  Its so simple and is so natural too. The ‘plant’ is a simple natural yeast culture grow in a glass jar from the ginger. Homemade Ginger Beer and how to grow the Plants

As a children we  made ginger beer with my Mom, there were times when it all went completely haywire but it mostly worked and was wonderful. This week I have been experimenting with ginger beer ‘plants’ and have made one using yeast, sugar and ground ginger and one with fresh ginger and sugar.  So far both seem to be doing what they are supposed to do, and hopefully in the next week will make some ginger beer, if it succeeds I’ll write up the recipe in case anyone else has a hankering for the old fashioned ‘pop’. … Read entire article »
