Seedlings progress
The seedlings that were set in March are all growing on strongly, and have all been potted on to give them a little more room to grow, although the house is now looking something like a greenhouse as every window ledge seems to have some seedlings growing on it. The first photo’ show my Lemon grass, this was grown from a piece bought at the local supermarket and I can’t tell you how pleased I am to see it grow. The second shows some of the squashes in their recycled coffee cups, I just wash them and snip a few holes in the bottom and hey presto they are ready to use to pot up! Growing Lemon grass and other seedlings
The lemon grass that I bought in a supermarket has finally taken root! It took quite a bit longer than I thought it would to actually root but it is now planted up and I wait see if it will grow on to be a useful supply, oh I really hope it will. It is fantastic ingredient in the Tom Yam soup, and I can only believe that cut fresh will be even better. The chili seeds taken from one bought in a supermarket have sprouted and now on the second set of leaves, today I potted them on and so far they look fine. Hopefully they will reproduce themselves or something resembling the original. I’m doing the same with a ‘scotch bonnet’ chili too. At this rate I will be … Read entire article »
